This soap paste was made in the U.S.A. by the Colgate Palmolive Peet Company, It came in a great 10oz metal tin and was developed to be used by mechanics at the shop or at home. It had to be strong to tackle oil and grease but promised to be "kind to the skin". The side of the lid advised "If soap hardens - add water".
